Gamma Plus Appeal - technology for accurate diagnosis
The current focus of the Hospitals Charity is the Gamma Plus Appeal. The target is £600,000 for a new Gamma Camera for Bedford Hospital.
Most people are familiar with the variety of ways of creating pictures of the body, such as X-rays, Ultrasound, CT and MRI. A Gamma Camera is another way of creating pictures to help diagnosis and treatment. When combined with a CT scanner, the new Gamma Camera XCT combines the technologies to produce brilliant images.
The Hospital’s current Gamma Camera is in need of replacement. With your help the Charity will replace it with the latest technology which greatly improves the pictures, aids the detection of disease and thus the ability to make accurate diagnoses. 80% of the people who have a Gamma Scan are cancer patients.
Our Aim – In partnership with the Bedford Hospital Trust to equip Bedford Hospital with the best available equipment now!
